La Montgrande is a beautiful Maison de Mâitre in the Charente-Maritime region of France.
The house and its outbuildings are built in approximately 2 acres of gardens.
It is just a 2-3 minute walk into the village square, and yet still peaceful and quiet.
The gite has been lovingly restored for the perfect home from home, and it is perfect for couples or a young family with 2 bedrooms.
With a touch of luxury to your stay, including a king size memory foam mattress, soft bedding, Egyptian cotton towels and feather cushions, we hope you will feel at home.
About The Owners
Jan & Graham bought the property in 2020, and live there with their 13 year old Weimaraner, Luna and their 3 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, Lilly.
The property continues to be a huge project, and will continue to be their home, but also with some B&B rooms (from 2024) and eventually more gite rentals.

The Gite
The gite was opened for rental from May 2023, and has been very popular with its guests.
It is part of the main house, but with it's own separate entrance and therefore completely private.
It is on 2 floors, the ground floor is an open plan living / kitchen / dining area, and a bathroom with a shower.
Upstairs is a main bedroom with a king size bed, and a room with 2 cabin style single beds.
Everything has been completely refitted and modernised, so that it will be a comfortable and pleasant stay for you.
About The Property
Great Location
La Montgrande is in a perfect location being only a 2-3 minute walk from the Centre of Aulnay which has bars and restaurants along with twice weekly markets. There are also three bakeries in the centre of Aulnay along with a pharmacy, cash points and a post office. The nearest supermarket is 1 kilometre away at the edge of the village.
Private Gated Parking
Five foot stone walls surround 3 sides of the two acre property and fencing on the fourth side, with electronic gates at the front. There is plenty of space for parking, which is of course free of charge to guests.
Brand New Gite
Graham has given the Gite a complete renovation from top to bottom, everything is brand new. Graham is now working on the B&B Rooms.

“We were so lucky to come across La Montgrande, it was outside our proposed North to South route but so worth the detour! The gite is gorgeous, beautifully designed/decorated, top hotel quality bedding and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay including shops/bars/restaurants in the lovely village which is a leisurely 5 minute walk away. We had planned to do lots of day trips but it was so relaxing at La Mongrande we just chilled in the garden.
